1. The Golden Rule
Lyrics
On a cold winter night
With the moon big and bright
As the town lay asleep in their beds
Near the old rusted gate
By the side of the lake
Lay Mary with an axe in her head
In the morning they found
Her sad withered bones
Some children just walking to school
They screamed at the sight
In the strange morning light
And whispered the golden rule

Poor Mary Moore her short life is o’er
She will do unto them what they did to her

Then Mary did rise
Wiped the blood from her eyes
And told them to follow her lead
They got right in line
And they stumbled behind
For this girl they would do any deed
From house to stone house
They wandered about
And slaughtered whomever they’d see
Woman or man
Their mothers their dads
Without hesitation or grief

Poor Mary Moore her short life is o’er
She will do unto them what they did to her

Then Mary did grin
Took an axe in her hand
And chopped down the children like weeds
She had to be sure
So she murdered them all
‘Til the blood did pour through the streets
And I know you have seen
Like the haunt of a dream
This girl so fair and unclean
Teaching the youth
Forever the truth
This world is vicious and mean

2. Curse Of The Poltergeists
Lyrics
They climbed on his back
And drained all his strength
They called them poltergeists
From where did they come?
From God or from man?
Or from some darker hand?
The sky was red and falling
He heard their fearful gnawing

Along his spine their claws entwined
Beware the poltergeists
He walked up walls
His guts crawled out
And wrapped around his throat
In town the folks were praying
Like wolves he heard them baying

His hopeless cries did nauseate
Those wicked poltergeists
They spat him out a pile of gore
And never were seen no more
They never were seen no more

3. Terror On The Ghost Ship
Lyrics
The time had come to throw him overboard
The ocean pulsed just like an ugly sore
His clothes were torn his skin all ripped and red
He thought of all the things that could have been

The creatures of the deep they circled ’round
He saw their fins and heard their beastly sounds
“I’ll be back” he said to all the crew
“You’re done with me but I’m not done with you.”

The captain pushed him with his rusted sword
He walked the plank then how the rain did pour
Seven days and seven black ink nights
Every hour oh how that crew did fight

Their sails gone and holes punched in the ship
They heard a voice say “Brothers take a dip.”
Slower than the burning hands of time
The ship it sunk with no one left alive

But sometimes when the moon is dull and new
You’ll see this ragged ship and ghostly crew
Their souls are trapped and they cannot break free
Doomed to walk the plank eternally

4. Dream Of You
Lyrics
Dream dream I’ll dream of you
Close my eyes when the day is through
My true love’s dead but I’ll see her in my head
When I lay my body on the bed

Dream dream I’ll dream of you
Close my eyes when the day is through
The night she died she said to me
“Tonight I’ll dream of you so won’t you dream of me?”

Dream dream I’ll dream of you
Close my eyes when the day is through
And though you’re underground dear
You’ll be coming around here soon

Dream dream I’ll dream of you
Close my eyes when the day is through
I’ll say those spells I’ll drink that wine
Then I’ll wait for you to come alive

Dream dream I’ll dream of you
Close my eyes when the day is through
And though you’re underground dear
You’ll be coming around here soon

Dream dream I’ll dream of you
Close my eyes when the day is through

5. Skin And Bones
Lyrics
There was an old woman all skin and bones
Ooooo
She lived down by the old graveyard
Ooooo
One night she thought she’d take a walk
Ooooo
She walked down by the old graveyard
Ooooo
She saw the bones a-laying around
Ooooo
She went to the closet to get a broom
Ooooo
She opened the door and…died
6. Boy With No Shadow
Lyrics
Everywhere he’d go his shadow would follow
He tried to hide within the light
But his shadow did follow
He walked up to his mother
His shadow did follow
He told her he was frightened
His shadow did follow

All night long he’d try to cry himself to sleep
But the shadow would whisper and scratch at his toes

No one would believe his shadow was evil
Swinging from the midnight trees
His shadow did follow
Climbing though the window
His shadow did follow
Crawling underneath his bed
His shadow did follow

All night long he’d try to cry himself to sleep
But the shadow would whisper and scratch at his toes

Never did he speak to the shadow that followed
It told him of such awful things
His shadow that followed
At last he grew so sick
Of his shadow that followed
He begged it to just go away
And strangely it listened

7. October 1347
Lyrics
In the violent October 1347
A ship from far Asia did sail into port
In the cargo were rats all covered with fleas
Come to old Europe to spread their disease

Pneumonic bubonic and oh worst of all
Septicemic plague would kill in an hour

They hid in their houses put signs on their doors
Lord have mercy on us but God let em fall
Whole villages vanished beneath Death’s scythe
The Reaper did harvest lost spirits did fly

Pneumonic bubonic and oh worst of all
Septicemic plague would kill in an hour

One third of the world in two years was gone
Foxes and crows did nest in their towers
The churches stood empty the farms all untended
In streets piled bodies all black and distended

Pneumonic bubonic and oh worst of all
Septicemic plague would kill in an hour

The moans of the living and dying combined
A cacophonous nightmare that echoes through time
It couldn’t happen again we pretend
God loves us more now than he did back then
It couldn’t happen again not like then
Just close your eyes dear we’ve got to pretend

8. The Mouldering One Returns
Lyrics
Hear her scratching at the window
He knew that she’d be back
Though many years have passed now
She’s finally home at last

And the grave may hold her bones
Her skin be soft with mold
But the grave can’t hold her ghost
Ooooo
Ooooo

Her lips so black and cold now
Her eyes so dull and gray
These endless days of darkness
Must finally pass away

And the grave may hold her bones
Her skin be soft with mold
But the grave can’t hold her ghost
Ooooo
Ooooo

Now she stands before him
He longs to feel her skin
He lifts his hand to touch her
But she fades away again

And the grave may hold her bones
Her skin be soft with mold
But the grave can’t hold her ghost
Ooooo
Ooooo

“Darling please don’t leave me.”
He bangs his voodoo drum
The house it starts to creaking
But never does she come

And the grave may hold her bones
Her skin be soft with mold
But the grave can’t hold her ghost
Ooooo
Ooooo

Yes the grave may hold her bones
Her skin be soft with mold
But the grave can’t hold her ghost
Ooooo
Ooooo
Ooooo

9. Midsummer Fair
Lyrics
Walking home late from midsummer fair
A drunken man stumbled alone
A bitter wind blew through the dirt in his hair
And the branches were rattling like bones like bones
The branches were rattling like bones

Suddenly a pack of glowing black dogs
Came bounding toward him from the woods
Riding behind was a richly dressed huntsman
His saddle weighed down with fine goods fine goods
His saddle weighed down with fine goods

“Oh huntsman please share your spoils with me.”
The drunkard did say with a grin
A thing wrapped in white the huntsman threw down
Then galloped away once again again
He galloped away once again

Inside he found his poor infant child
So blue and so cold to the touch
Then it did twist and fall to the ground
Then shriveled and turned into dust to dust
It shriveled and turned into dust

He hurried on home to see his old wife
Who waited for him at the door
Tears filled her eyes and she shrieked in the night
“Our child is with us no more no more
Our child is with us no more.”

11. Death Of Me
Lyrics
Wonder wonder what will be the death of me?
Wonder when they’ll put me down below?
Will they call you darling on the telephone
And tell you that you’re better off alone?

When death calls me I won’t go
Don’t let me go

When will that old moon come rising up again?
I’m ready to begin something new
If you’ve got some whiskey in your pocket dear
Better have yourself a drink or two

When death calls me I won’t go
Don’t let me go
For once I too was young
My neck was not yet wrung
And I remember

So hang your withered bonnet on this nail dear
And tear a single teardrop from your eye
No matter how they threaten or abuse me
I will cling most desperately to life

When death calls me I won’t go
Don’t let me go
For once I too was young
My neck was not yet wrung
And I remember

12. You Cannot Be Saved From The Grave
Lyrics
The wind through the trees makes no sound
Underground underground
Nothing but bones and old dreams
So it seems so it seems
But sometimes she hears him moan
“Please help me please help me.”
But you cannot be saved from the grave
No you cannot be saved from the grave

Their voices like cool autumn leaves
Rustling through empty streets
Their eyes like bright shining dimes
Let them rise let them rise
For sometimes she hears him moan
“Please help me please help me.”
But you cannot be saved from the grave
No you cannot be saved from the grave

She kneels and she weeps for the day
She will join his decay

13. Bone Orchard Rise
Lyrics
Bone orchard rise bone orchard rise
Tear down tear down these skies
Oooooo
Oooooo
