Lonesome Wyatt sir, do you like the Swans? I think Failure would be a wicked song to cover.

Did you see GWAR on tour the year Church of the Subgenius opened up for them? Did you see them in Chicago that year?

It's been awful busy around here. In July I'm doing a small Holy Spooks tour with Joseph Huber and then we have the new TPB album and book coming out most likely in Sept.
I know I've really fallen behind in answering these questions, but let me try to answer a few right now.
I have never been to a Gwar show. I do like the Swans. I've never really talked to Dax about a collaboration. Nothing is too sad to release. The song "Hey Little Tear" by The Fleetwoods is a really good weeper that comes to mind. I will be coming south of the mason/dixon in July. TPB will not be playing Muddy Roots this year. Hellfire Hymns and all the old albums will be eventually released on vinyl. There are so many good old records that I don't know where to begin. Blind Willie Johnson is a good religious one and Jim Reeves "The Intimate Jim Reeves" has a lot of really good sad stuff. Rickey Nelson's third album (I think) with "Lonesome Town" is also one that's good to hear. It all depends on your mood.

Hello Mr. Wyatt. I noticed that you like some metal music. I thought I would suggest Candlemass to you. I don't know for sure why, but I like them, and I like your music, so there must be some kind of link. They just released their last album. I'd be surprised if you haven't already heard of them, and you've probably already formed an opinion of them, but I think everyone should hear them at least once, like your music.

Anyway, glad to hear of your new album and book. I'm a big fan. I hope you are a good author, because books like that don't come along often, so when they do, they gotta be good. Of course, I'm fairly certain the new album will be good.

I grew up in a house that embraced wholly the fire and brimstone southern baptist philosophy that your music depicts. Listening to your music has really made me a more well-rounded person, because I relate a lot to some of your songs. My uncle went out into the woods and died, and no one found him for weeks because he was such an evil man, no one wanted to find him. A lot of my relatives are like that. I've been poor, depressed and alone before, and I have been disowned by a lot of the people who helped raise me. THis isn't a sob story though. Im saying, I have a very dark nature, and listening to your music has helped me to accept pain and suffering, to not let it destroy me in order to better fight against it, and improve the world around me. It's cathartic, you could say. Of course, I doubt that's what you intended, generally music is about entertainment, but I'm one of those people that takes everything seriously. Anyway, keep doing what you are doing.

Hey Wyatt,

Is there any more info you're willing to drop us about the album? How long is it? If possible, a track title or two? :P

As an aside, are there any covers you are thinking of doing? I keep thinking of songs that I would love to hear TPB cover, partly because they are appropriate to TPB's mood and also because I think you'd do a great rendition. Songs like:

The Goose Walking Over My Grave by Jay Munly,
Minute of Decay by Marilyn Manson,
The Mercy Seat or Red Right Hand or Jack the Ripper by Nick Cave,
The Future by Leonard Cohen,
Any Hank Williams song of course,
and in particular the song that holds my title of 'most depresisng and heartsick song ever':
A Desolation Song by Agalloch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGlbFdvgius - TPB could easily provide the definitive version of this!

Fucking hell what a hostile person... Behold the Abyss sounds like TPB to me. . Pretty much half their repertoire is on the slightly 'softer' side. Fair enough if you think it should have been released as Lonesome Wyatt, but fuck you for being so rude to Wyatt and whoever else helped make this album. Show some fucking respect instead of trying to be a hard asshole online. You wouldn't say it to his face.

I'mma gonna give my full opinion on it all when I finish the book too, but its good!
